Unjustified Complaint-Missed Deadline

Dear Dr. Gere,

We are certainly sorry that your monthly newsletter, Medifact, had to be mailed almost a week late, causing some problems in your association’s schedules of events. Rather than blame my pressman for the delay, however, you should be talking to your art director. He delivered the sketches and diagrams for the first and last pages almost three days behind the art deadline we had jointly agreed upon. There was no way we could reschedule the Medifact press run without usurping a time period from some other customer, which would have been grossly unfair – and not exactly conductive to getting repeat business. The only solution would have been overtime, and you, yourself have instructed us never to choose an option that would put any month’s publication over your budget.

Let’s reexamine our deadline for next month.
